Summary0001000: Main menu placed badly
DescriptionEverything is visible in the attached screenshot - the upper left corner of the main menu is placed in the middle of the screen instead of the upper left corner, so some buttons are not visible and therefore "clickable". Changing screen resolution does not help (800x600 means no visible button).. Note that I had previously installed the *.deb package you offer and just updated to the latest "stable" version.
Steps To ReproduceLaunching VCMI.

It is an obvious regression.
It also prevents me from testing the game, see http://bugs.vcmi.eu/view.php?id=989 [^]

Actually it does not have to prevent you from testing because hotkeys still work - in the main menu you may press N for new game or L for loading saved game. And then S for single player etc. The map selection menu/saved games menu is showed properly. But I agree that this bug is quite annoying.

Wow. I haven't ever known about that. Thanks.

By the way, what does mean "0.89b"? They did a new release?

Make sure that you have updated data files.
Unpack this package in /usr/share/vcmi/
http://download.vcmi.eu/vcmi-data_0.89.tar.gz [^]

In case of installation from svn (aka 0.89b)
Copy configuration files:
cp -r /path/to/source/config/ /usr/local/share/vcmi/
(or create symbolic link)

I'm planning to fix this by next release but for now binaries and data packages are separate.

@Ivan, using your link solved this problem.

UPD: I uploaded bzip2-compressed tarball ready to be extracted into root directory. Now I do have

-rw-r--r-- 1 username username 1704013 Jun 13 05:29 vcmi-data-free-v0.89.datapkg.tar.bz2
-rw-rw-r-- 1 username username 365059866 May 16 03:37 vcmi-data-nonfree-WoG-basic.datapkg.tar.bz2

Interesting idea.

I'm planning to get rid of this data package by next release anyway (integrate it in into existing .deb's) so at least those who install from packages won't have such problems.

But... Debian doesn't have VCMI in repos. And non-free data distribution would break 100% of their policies (if it was not declared as "abandon-ware", and you are guys from New World computing or so).

By the way, the issue that when 'm casting "Bloodlust", and I'm getting first aid healing animation is a known one?

I know about that. But:
- I'm planning to notably reduce size of that data package.
- I don't think that getting into debian repos should be our priority right now. At least not until 1.0 release.

Bloodlust is a known issue. I think that it was already reported here.
Yup - just made search for bloodlust and found 0000093

We don't support such animations like bloodlust or petrification right now.

Thanks, fixed by the data-files-package.
