You need Heroes III data to run VCMI. For Windows this means that you need to extract VCMI package in Heroes III install directory For Linux - see this page: http://wiki.vcmi.eu/index.php?title=Installation_on_Linux [^] Also - log says that you're running VCMI 0.91. This is outdated version - you may want to install 0.93 instead. |

I installed from Heroes III data using vcmibuilder, but it led to the result that I described above. And with a version I really was wrong - right is 0.91 |

Maybe I am wrong or off-topic, but I got a similar message after building VCMI from sources when I forgot to copy the package with latest VCMI release to the trunk folder. Fixed it by copying the missing files. |

IIRC vcmibuilder for 0.91 won't copy resulting data into "data directory". In 0.91 you had to do this: run "vcmiclient -v" to get data directory path copy script output to where vcmi expects it to be found. cp -RTu vcmi /path/to/vcmi/data/directory Or update to 0.93 - much better idea :) |
