The mage guild should have been disabled for build
The mage guild is all-built
The mage guild has no spells
The mage guild can sell magic book
start map Heroes Without Magic (Alliance)
get christian (castle), red player as starting parameters

Have you checked how it works in H3? This is exactly behaviour of the original game.

Not thoroughly, but the MAGE GUILD BUILDING is disabled for build on the map, I mean the BUILDING (so it should have grey bar - not availible). so the mage guild should not be here at all.

some of the behaviour resembles original game WHEN THE MAGE GUILD IS BUILT.
however on the map there should be no magic guild at all, and be grey in town hall. instead it is yellow (all-built). it also seems to appear on the town screen.

all the rest is details how it works now in VCMI - the real bug is the ghost mage guild - rest it is what parts of the ghost mage guild works and what not.

it can have something with random town details because castle has 4-level MG and on the map all parts of MG is disabled for build (so it may trigger a problem with not existant 5th level.

AGAIN ON THE MAP THERE SHOULD BE NO MAGE GUILDS AT ALL. instead now there are ghost ones.

What I see is:
- Mages guild is completely built
- It has no spells in it (all scrolls are closed)
- Hero still can buy useless spellbook.

This map have no blocked buildings at all - "might not magic" effect was created by blocking all spells from appearance in mage guild.
